Considered by many as “la più bella del mondo”, the Lamborghini Miura is an icon born in the mid-60s. While Ferruccio Lamborghini’s dream was to build the perfect GT car, some of his young employees were captivated by race cars. In 1965, engineer Gian Paolo Dallara, with his assistant Paolo Stanzani, conceived a mid-engine chassis in their spare time. Ferruccio liked the idea, and the Lamborghini Miura made its debut in Geneva 1966. Initially destined for limited production (Ferruccio envisioned just 50 cars), the demand was so strong that 762 cars were produced by 1973. The Miura not only brought Lamborghini to the forefront but also inspired the entire industry to redefine what a road car could be. Here are three examples: two P400 S models and a red P400.
